Week 412 Review - Saved from new all-time low by late Optibiotix rally

On OPTI:Optibiotix results day the price dropped and I was down £4,000 on the week and preparing for yet another blog of woe and all-time low. However, in a rare huge volume day on Friday, the OPTI share price recovered and ended up 1p higher than last week. Unfortunately PBX:Probiotix didn't recover and lost a load of money, so I only ended up £631 better off instead of the £2,000 OPTI increase, but that was still the best week in ages. The deficit reduced to £133,399 and value increased to £50,596.

JLP:Jubilee Metals had another bad week, dropping 8% in some of my holdings and reducing the gains this week.

PBX:Probiotix Health fell another 5% in my main holding and 13% in my recent holding and didn't bounce back like OPTI:Optibiotix did.

There was some good news, with some shares that were hammered last week recovering a bit.

GAW:Games Workshop went up 5% and are now 13% in profit.

III:3i Group recovered most of last week's loss to go up 5% and are now 19% in profit.

IES:Invinity Energy have been on a bit of a run after being tipped, and climbed 5% this week but are still 79% down.

Share of the week is ASHM:Ashmore Group which climbed 6% to remove most of last week's loss, but are still 25% down.

Here's the ISA and shares portfolio after week 48 of year 8.

The rise in OPTI:Optibiotix wasn't enough to counteract the drop in JLP:Jubilee Metals, so this account drops yet again by £19.

Grim

I'm hoping the recovery in OPTI:Optibiotix after results means that people who have sold out are starting to buy back in. Getting up from these desperately low prices is my only hope of being able to report a less dreadful performance. I think I need to face the fact that the share price isn't going to go anywhere until a big Sweetbiotix deal is announced. My worry is, if Sweetbiotix is so great and global corporates are working with us, why are none of them investing in the company or trying to buy us out? I'd be worried about relying on a penny share company with virtually no assets to provide a key ingredient of my global brand. I'm starting to think my early retirement plans are not going to happen, in fact I may not get to retire at all.

Week 411 Review - Big drop in Jubilee Metals brings new all-time low.

I knew the tiny rise last week would get obliterated, as JLP:Jubilee Metals plummeted and there were big drops all over the place, so the deficit between cost and value widened by £1,780 to a record high of £134,030 and portfolio value dropped to £50,609.

Worst performer was PSN:Persimmon which dropped 10%. I suspect house builders will get hammered now mortgage rates are going up, but this is a long term investment for the dividend so I can wait for it to turn around.

JLP:Jubilee Metals fell 10% in some of my holdings and was the main contributor to this week's losses.

ASHM:Ashmore Group dive-bombed 9% to go 31% down. Yet another disaster for my magic formula.

III:3i Group is one of my top performers, but still dropped 8%, Thankfully they remained 14% in profit.

EDV:Endeavour Mining went from profit to loss, dropping 7% to go 6% down.

WHR:Warehouse REIT also dropped 7% and is now 30% down.

RIO:Rio Tinto dropped another 6% to go 17% down. I think I was naive thinking I could manage a virtual stop loss at 15% in these markets. Shares are so volatile I would have sold every single investment. I need to face the fact that it's better to hang on in there as long as the company fundamentals remain strong.

ANTO:Antofagasta waited until I'd bought some with my monthly investment, then promptly dropped 6% and is now 4% down and well below what I just paid.

CAML:Central Asia Metals looked like they were recovering, but dropped 5% so my original holding is now 35% down.

Nothing climbed by 5% or more so nothing deserves Share of the Week.

Just as things were looking a bit more promising, we drop a huge £51, so back to utter bleakness.

We'll soon have that trend line pointing downwards again!

I wonder how many time's I'll have to write that the portfolio has hit a new all-time low? I'm well and truly fed up.

Week 410 Review - Optibiotix drops again, but not enough to prevent the first rise in value for 9 weeks

OPTI:Optibiotix fell 0.1p to a new all-time low of 7p, but it wasn't enough to prevent another rise in JLP:Jubilee Metals from giving us an up week for the first time in 2 months. The deficit between cost and value narrowed by a very small £294, but I'll take anything these days. The deficit now stands at £132,249 and portfolio value is £52,264.

Worst performer was PAGE:Page Group which dropped 6% to go 12% down. I can't seem to bank on my magic formula these days, in fact the figures I use for my rankings are no longer available on Advfn so I either abandon my strategy or have to fork out for a paid service like Stockopedia to get at the stats I need.

CAPD:Capital had a good week, climbing 5% but they are still 10% down.

JLP:Jubilee Metals climbed 6% which accounts for most of the weekly gains.

ANTO:Antofagasta had a great week, climbing 8%. It tends to do this just before I make my monthly investment, then drops after!

Share of the Week is GAW:Games Workshop, which went up a magnificent 14% and is now 10% in profit.

Value went up £222 which is better than a drop, but the problem is all the drops are more like £1,000 so the weeks I'm in the black don't even make up for the previous week's falls, and you can bet we'll fall again next week. Potential profits climbed £162 thanks to GAW:Games Workshop going into profit and the rise in JLP:Jubilee Metals.

A rare positive week thanks to JLP:Jubilee Metals, but a long way to go before I'll be in profit, and only 4 more weeks of year 7 left, so that's almost certainly going to finish with a loss of around £100 a month after the collapse of DDDD:4D Pharma.

I suppose it's good news that my Y axis still has plenty of room.

The only reason the trend line is pointing upwards is I keep realising losses. I suppose I should be grateful I'm vaguely near it.

I've been prepping the stats so I maintain my weekly snapshots, but the enthusiasm to write my blog is waning. I need to keep it up as it does help me come to decisions, but for the last 2 years they've mostly been bad.

Week 409 Review - Optibiotix drags the portfolio to a new all-time low despite Jubilee Metals rally.

With a welcome recovery from JLP:Jubilee Metals it looked like this could be a good week, until OPTI:Optibiotix lost another 1.4p and messed everything up. The deficit between cost and value widened by £1,579 to £132,544 and total value dropped to £51,189. This is the 7th week in a row the value has dropped. I really can't believe it is this bad.

Worst performer was WHR:Warehouse REIT dropping 14% after lackluster results. They are 20% down now, but fundamentals are strong and the dividend is good, so I'll keep hold of them. I've abandoned my 15% drop equals sell rule for magic formula shares as I would have sold virtually all of them given the state of the current market, and I won't take all those paper losses as I'd just replace them with something that's likely to do the same.

OPTI:Optibiotix dropped 9% in some of my holdings. If there's no news soon we're going to sink like a brick.

EDV:Endeavour Mining also dropped 9%, which is unusual for this normally popular share.

SBTX:SkinBioTherapeutics has also been a disaster and dropped another 5% this week to go 66% down. All my microbiome investments are utterly rubbish. So much for it being the future!

There was some good news. APAX:Apax Global Alpha climbed 8% and is only 6% down now.

Share of the Week is JLP:Jubilee Metals, which climbed 12%, 16% and 26% depending on the holding, and one of them is in profit!

I won £375 on the premium bonds and Nationwide are dishing out £100 dividend, so I added £500 to my ISA and bought 7,002 shares in JLP:Jubilee Metals at 7.14p costing £509.89. Very happy to say that they promptly rose to 8.5p, and so with my other AJ Bell ISA holding bought at 8.05p they are now up by 9% making £92 potential profit. Hopefully the news flow will continue and we can get back to the 15p range this should be at.

Five weeks left to go in Year 7 and JLP:Jubilee Metals may be staging a rally. It can't rise enough to remove the £1,157 loss suffered when DDDD:4D Pharma went bust, but if I get a chance to sell then it could make it look a little less desperate. Certainly the £76 rise in value was very welcome, despite OPTI:Optibiotix trying to remove it.

A rare tick up.

Not enough to get back above the trend line.

We're expecting PBX:Probiotix results any day now. If they are anything short of spectacular then I'm very worried for the future of my microbiome investments. We've been assured over and over that things are going well for them, so anything short of a decent profit will be a disaster for the PBX and OPTI share prices. I'm almost dreading the RNS, but at least we'll be put out of our misery when it finally lands.

I added £2,000 from my work pension and used it to buy 1060 shares in CAML:Central Asia Metals at 188.572p costing £2,010.81. They are my favourite company and are now debt free and generating large amounts of cash. They will either return it to shareholders or buy another site. I hoped to re-invest my JLP:Jubilee Metals profits here but that's not going to happen for a while if ever, so I abandoned magic formula to get more of these. Having said that, they are in my magic formula top 30 anyway.

Potential profits went up £123 and I got a £13 dividend from UKW:Greencoat UK Wind. Cash went up as I added my £250 monthly savings but is hasn't been invested yet. Compound performance dropped by 1% as it's measured against total injection amount.

Still dropping like a stone

That finishes the big catch-up of 5 weeks of utter despair. Actually, it's 2 years of utter despair, and no sign of any improvement. I'm writing this on Monday and I'm already down £778 on the week.

Week 407 Review - Optibiotix drags me to a new all-time low.

This week it was the turn of OPTI:Optibiotix to drag down the portfolio value with a 1p fall. That resulted in a widening of the deficit between cost and value by £2,092.35 to a new record of  £129,986.44, with total value just £51,226.42.

PSN:Persimmon was the worst performer, dropping 6%.

CEY:Centamin had been doing better recently, but dropped 5% to go 15% down.

Same old story.

Nothing good to say. Just hoping for some sort of miracle to turn this mess around.

Week 406 Review - Both Jubilee Metals and Probiotix drop and usher in new all-time low.

Sounds like a broken record. This week the deficit between cost and value widened by £1,977 to £127,894 and total value dropped to £53,318.

JLP:Jubilee Metals was worst performer and is one of my biggest holdings. They dropped 6% and caused half the deficit.

PBX:Probiotix Health are another of my biggest holdings and dropped 5%.

Thankfully we have a Share of the Week, with III:3i Group climbing 6% to go 18% up altogether.

Here's the ISA and shares portfolio after week 42 of year 8.

I added £500 to my ISA following a premium bond win and invested it in JLP:Jubilee Metals. Guess what - I ibought them just before the price dropped from 8p to 7.4p. I bought 6,087 shares at 8.05p costing 499.95.

I got £12 dividend from GAW:Games Workshop and £19.03 from CAPD:Capital, so my magic formula shares are contributing something. Potential profits now only £3 though.

If the chart just continues downwards, there's no point in me commenting.

Yet again we drop...

No point in trying to create drama and tension - we know this horror story continues for the next 2 weeks...
