Week 581 Review - Fifth red week in a row.

Yet another red week, in fact the fifth red week in a row. The deficit between cost and value widened by £595 to £155,308, and the deficit between injection and value rose to £61,019. Total portfolio value fell to £128,719.

The worst performer was SBTX:SkinBioTherapeutics, dropping 20% only a week after dropping 17%. There's not been an obvious catalyst for the drop. It seems unlikely to be caused by the appointment of the interim CEO to full time.

W7L:Warpaint London had pretty uninspiring interims and dropped 11% as a result.

YU.:Yu Group dropped 10% after interim results, which didn't seem that bad to me. They have now gone into loss by 2%.

AMP:Ampeak Energy fell 9% and are now 73% down.

SRB:Serabi Gold fell 9% despite gold staying fairly static. There seems to be concern over the renewal of their mining licence. This has been a bit of a bad investment so far, dropping 24% since I bought them just a few weeks ago.

IES:Invinity Energy fell 8% after their interims. There were no surprises but the market must have been hoping for more.

I bought some shares in CAML:Central Asia Metal this week and they promptly dropped 7%, but most of that was caused by them going ex-dividend.

THX:Thor Explorations dropped 7% despite reasonably strong interim results. These are down 27% since I bought them.

PBX:Probiotix Health slipped another 6% so my hopes they were moving back towards IPO price were  short lived.

MEGP:ME Group International fell 5% and are now 10% down.

PAF:Pan African Resources  dropped 5% despite gold being fairly flat. My recent purchase is only 5% up now, but my original holding is still up by 301%.

JLP:Jubilee Metals has had a torrid few months, but went up 5% this week. Are we finally seeing a reversal of the relentless decline, or a brief blip?

FNX:Fonix went up 6% and have now gone into profit.

AMRQ:Amaroq climbed 7% after a deal being struck between Denmark and USA over Greenland.

Share of the Week is DXRX:Diaceutics, which zoomed up 15% after strong interim results, with my holding now up by 12%.

Here's the ISA and shares portfolio after week 9 of year 12.

Still stagnated.

Still following the trend line.

CAML:Central Asia Metal dropped after a delay to getting court permission for their planned purchase of Cygnus Metals, and they were about to go ex-dividend, so I figured I'd use the cash I was planning to use for monthly investments to buy some. I bought 412 shares at 169.501p costing £703.34. They predicably dropped 7%, but I will get the dividend and hope they recover once the court approvals are passed.

I had an impressive £131 in dividends, with £23 from ARBB:Arbuthnot Banking, £11 from QLT:Quilter, £64 from RIO:Rio Tinto and £32 from SBRE:Sabre Insurance.

Potential profits went up £305 but value dropped by £578 as the losses beat the gains.

Still stuck just below the injection line.

Back on the trend line and following it down.

Not much hope of keeping this on the trend line as I'm unlikely to sell anything for the next 6 months.

I have a £2,400 pension transfer arriving next week, so can either increase my holding in some existing magic formula shares or get some new ones. THX:Thor Explorations is top of my ranking spreadsheet and 27% down, so I'm feeling a strong temptation to top up. BYIT:Bytes Technology are the highest ranked share that I don't yet own, and a recent trading update was ahead of expectations, so I'm tempted to get some of those.

FRP:FRP Advisory are next in the ranking. I've just missed the dividend though, so will give those a miss. FGEN:Foresight Environmental Infrastructure are next, but I already own FSG:Foresight Group Holding so will just rely on those. The only other share in my top 30 is FEML:Fidelity Emerging Markets. They are 30th in my ranking but are tempting as they seem to be climbing relentlessly.

I do already have £4,600 invested in THX:Thor Explorations, so I may get £1,100 each in BYIT and FEML, leaving me £200 plus £200 cash in my SIPP to get THX past £5,000.

Week 580 Review - Optibiotix and Jubilee Metals ruin an otherwise flat week.

It was a largely flat week, but my biggest holdings all dropped, so the result was a widening of the deficit between cost and value by £2,667 to £154,713 and a widening of the deficit between injection and value to £60,556. Total portfolio value fell to £129,183.

Worst performer was SBTX:SkinBioTherapeutics, which dropped 17% for no reason whatsoever.

JLP:Jubilee Metals is my 2nd largest holding and dropped 13% and was responsible for a big chunk of the losses.

FSG:Foresight Group Holdings fell 7% but most of that was from going ex-dividend.

IES:Invinity Energy drifted 7% lower.

HPOW:H-Power fell 6% which seems the same kind of drift as with IES.

OPTI:Optibiotix gave insipid interims and fell 5%, but that was on the back of a 13% rise last week.

FNX:Fonix went up 5% and is only 7% down now.

DXRX:Diaceutics has been motoring the last few weeks and went up another 6% this week so is now only 3% down.

TRU:Trufin is hopefully recovering from selling off a chunk of its assets and went up 6% this week, but is still 11% down. Given it has sold off such a big chunk of the company, I doubt it will be in my top 50 rankings in 6 months time, so I may sell it when it gets back to break-even.

BTG:BTG Consulting had a good AGM trading statement and went up 7% so is now only 7% down.

Share of the week is KEYS:Keystone Law Group which gave out a stellar interim report and went up 14% to go 17% into profit.

I used my cash injection to buy 523 shares in KOO:Kooth at 189.95p costing £998.44. They are near the top of my AIM magic formula rankings but I've been reluctant to buy as they rely heavily on Medicaid, which the American government have been destroying. However, with social media platforms being fined over harming the mental wellbeing of the younger generation, and with KOO providing online mental wellbeing support, it seemed there could be a lot of money being directed at their services even without Medicaid, so I decided now was the time to invest.

Portfolio value was absolutely hammered thanks to JLP:Jubilee Metals, OPTI:Optibiotix and SBTX:SkinBioTherapeutics and dropped over £2k, but AMRQ:Amaroq only dropped slightly so potential profits only suffered by £25.

A definite dip.

Right back on that bloody trend line!

Not much hope of this looking any better.

Some gold shares went up so potential profits improved by £499, but the losses already mentioned meant an overall drop of £542 in portfolio value. I had £35 dividend from FOUR:4imprint, £9 from FRES:Fresnillo, £16 from MSI:MS International and £43 from INVP:Investec, which was nice.

Why can't I stay above that injection line?

Still relentlessly following the trend line downwards.

The dividends kept this one flat this week.

I've caught up my backlog of posts, but my enthusiasm for writing these updates is waning as I seem to be losing money every week. I need the new director appointed by OPTI:Optibiotix to use his connections in the world of sweeteners to finally get Sweetbiotix being used in something, and I need the new focus of JLP:Jubilee Metals on their copper operation to start generating meaningful profit. It's those two companies that are really screwing up my performance because I went big and I went wrong.

Week 579 Review - Miners drag the SIPP down again but ISA is up.

Another bad week, with the deficit between cost and value widening by £1,430 to £152,045 and the deficit between injection and value growing to £57,993. Total portfolio value dropped to £131,745.

Worst performer was RDT:Rosslyn Data, which dropped 13% and is 88% down, so not long before it's an official basket case share and I stop reporting on price movements.

PAF:Pan African Resources dropped a massive 10% which was particularly vexing as it's one of my larger holdings.

AMP:Ampeak Energy and ATYM:Atalya Mining dropped 8%.

MSI:MS International dropped 7% but is still 13% in profit. GGP:Greatland Resources also dropped 7% putting my recent purchase at a 6% loss.

FRES:Fresnillo dropped 6% and is 16% down.

III:3i Group, THX:Thor Explorations  and MGNS:Morgan Sindall Group all dropped 5%.

AMRQ:Amaroq and CORE:Solidcore Resources both bucked the trend for miners and went up 5%.

KEYS:Keystone Law Group also climbed 5% and went 2% into profit.

YU.:Yu Group went up 7% and is now back in profit.

DXRX:Diaceutics went up 9% and is only 8% down.

Share of the Week is OPTI:Optibiotix which went up 13% after a Sweetbiotix update, but even that wasn't enough to counter all the big drops elsewhere.

I added £1,000 to my ISA and will buy something next week. Sell value actually went up thanks to OPTI:Optibiotix, and potential profits thanks to AMRQ:Amaroq.

The tick up is mainly due to the cash injection.

Just above the trend line, but not really deviating too much from it.

I did my monthly investment. I bought 83 shares in SRB:Serabi Gold at 296.8725p costing £247.63 and 8 shares in FRES:Fresnillo at 3053.512p costing £245.50.

Big drop in portfolio value, most of which was reduced profit from miners. I did get a £25 dividend from GCP:GCP Infrastructure Investments.

Slipping below the injection line. How many times have I bumped my head on it, only to fall back down?

Right back on the trend line. No respite from the constant decline.

My big sell of magic formula shares falling out of the top 15 only got me on to the trend line, but it's 6 months before I can do the same. My only hope is that JLP:Jubilee Metals comes good.

Week 578 Review - Gold miners drop and down we go.

Not a great week, with the deficit between cost and value widening by £1,823 to £150,614 and the deficit between injection and value widening to £56,571. Total portfolio value dropped to £132,167. I've had this sitting around in draft for weeks without having the enthusiasm to finish it, but I suppose I should.

Worst performer was my very recent purchase SRB:Serabi Gold, which dropped 8%. It wasn't my only poor gold performer though, as GGP:Greatland Resources fell 7%.

FDM:FDM Group, IPX:Impax Asset Management and TRU:Trufin all dropped 5%.

AMRQ:Amaroq managed to buck the trend for gold miners and went up 5%.

CORE:Solidcore Resources wins Share of the Week for a surprise climb of 11%. I wish they would list back on LSE as I can't do anything with my holding.

Slipping towards the trend line.

Slipping under the trend line.

I've got 2 more weeks to write up in order to catch up. I'm not feeling much enthusiasm. September has been shit.
